Cloak of Vigil
Type: Cloak — lightly enchanted Origin: Knights of Vindictus standard patrol kit (Leilon chapter) Status: Recovered from KoV camp provisions, Level 1, Tomb of Orcus, Session 045 Current Holder: Party (unassigned as of Session 045)
Description
Charcoal-gray wool with a silver clasp shaped like a divine eye — the eye of vigilance, a symbol shared across several orders pledged to watchfulness against undead and extraplanar threats. The clasp is the giveaway: standard KoV issue, but the eye motif appears on this chapter's ceremonial gear specifically.
The cloak doubles as a makeshift lean-to: the cut and reinforced seams are designed for field expeditions, the edge panels staked out into a weatherproof shelter when not being worn. A knight's tool for long watches in hostile territory.
Lightly enchanted to resist cold. The enchantment is subtle — not a full resistance, but enough to blunt the edge of a swamp winter or a tomb's ambient chill. Useful in the Mire of Dead Men; useful deeper in the Tomb.
What the Party Knows
- Found among the personal effects in the Knights of Vindictus camp on Level 1 of the Tomb of Orcus.
- Standard-issue patrol gear, elevated by the clasp and the enchantment — probably owned by someone officer-grade or above, or awarded for a campaign.
- "Cloak of Vigil" is the party's name for it; whether the KoV had a formal designation is unknown.
