What the Party Knows
A small-to-medium city nestled around the base of the mountain that holds the Fortress of Memories (the Raven Queen's seat in Letherna). Ubys grew up here — or rather, has grown up here across multiple incarnations.
The architecture is old Elven in its bones — a microcosm of what an Elven city might have looked like centuries ago, perpetuated and recycled through generations of Shadar-Kai reincarnation. Some customs have persisted long past their original context; they feel antiquated but are followed regardless.
The culture is communal by nature. Because Shadar-Kai reincarnate, everyone in the settlement has been everyone else's something across enough lifetimes. The philosophical implication is that the community does not grieve death the way mortals do — and so does not fear it the same way either.
A few radical members of the community are blamed by the broader settlement for something that happened "a few decades back." The details have not been shared.
The Temple of the Raven Queen sits at the base of the trail up the mountain — serving as the threshold between the city and the Fortress above. Ubys's intention is to go there first, meet with his "siblings" (fellow temple clergy or initiates), and seek coaching on how to approach the Fortress of Memories and arrange an audience with the Queen.
A forge is attached to the temple. Multiple party members have weapons to reforge or modify; the forge is a session-039 location.
A library is somewhere in the city. Moist wants to research Godsparks and the Nagpa; other party members have open research threads.
An apothecary or herbalist is also expected in a settlement of this size.
