Description
The lead mage of the four-Shadovar cell that transited through the Temple of Shar and waited in the Church of Sorrow ahead of the party. Red-and-grey-robed; composed; a speaker. He had the manner of someone who had delivered this particular offer many times before and found it strange that anyone would decline.
He was floating approximately 60 feet in the air in the cathedral atrium when the party arrived.
What the Party Knows
- He spoke for the four. The other three mages remained silent while Echelon addressed the party. He was clearly the cell leader.
- His offer: a test on Falkor, to see if the hatchling can serve as a Godspark vessel. The Shadovar possess a Godspark taken from a halfling cleric of Tamara. They wanted to see if Falkor could be its conduit — and thereby restore Bahamut.
- His stated motives: (1) the party is not strong enough to fulfill the Bahamut-restoration prophecy alone, and (2) the Shadovar want the prophecy fulfilled in a particular direction. He offered money; the party refused.
- He initiated combat by summoning two Shadow Mastiffs and signaling his mages when the party declined.
- He was restrained by the Iron Bands of Binding (thrown by Crowley), rendered unable to act effectively for most of the second half of combat.
- His last words: "Do what you will with me — but we will be back." When told this was impossible, he clarified: "It's the royal we."
