Backstory

Born in the High Forest to Lyria, a kind-hearted elven healer, and an unknown father. One of three siblings: older sister Kiernan (KeYs), brother Jace, and sister Lyra. Lyria died when Kiernan was in her early teens; she stepped up to care for her siblings before ultimately leaving them with their enclave and heading to the Sword Coast.

Trained under a seasoned hedge knight named Guu — grizzled, scar-heavy, and skeptical until he saw her determination. Guu's training was grueling: weapons, shields, chivalry, codes of knighthood. He supplemented her education with two other teachers: a sage named Paa (loved songbirds; history and book learning) and a monk named Choki (forest-familiar; survival). Both were heavy on tales of Dragon Knights, the Dragon Wars, and Bahamut. Guu disappeared on long missions frequently; the training was thorough and discipline was deeply instilled.

With training complete, Kiernan established herself as a knight-errant along the Sword Coast — a protector of small communities and travellers, driven by a promise to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Description

KeYs was drawn to a bronze egg in the well beneath the Toke Inn before the campaign properly started — a pull she could not explain and did not resist. The egg hatched into 03 Wiki/Falkor, a bronze dragon who is aging at an accelerated rate. KeYs is his Dragon Knight — the formal title for this bond.

The egg she retrieved is the Egg of a Dragon God. They are the same object. When the Mephisto Twins listed "Egg of a Dragon God" at the Session 034 auction, they were listing Falkor's egg — which had already hatched in KeYs's care. The lot was withdrawn because the egg no longer existed as a separate object. All godspark significance, faction interest, and cosmological weight applies to Falkor himself.

She keeps things close to the chest. She had private plans for the auction; not all of them were visible to the rest of the party.

Background & Hooks

  • 03 Wiki/Falkor — bronze dragon acquired Session 002 (as the Egg of a Dragon God); hatched Session 006; aging rapidly. Their Dragon Knight bond is the emotional core of KeYs's arc.
  • Will learn of Godsparks and Takhisis' Kiss in later sessions — her connection to a bronze dragon suggests the Bahamut-return thread will eventually intersect with her story.
  • Had private goals at the Session 034 auction; nature of those goals not fully disclosed.
  • Primary motivation: Protect 03 Wiki/Falkor the Young Dragon.
  • Patron / Deity: Bahamut-aligned (strongly implied by backstory training emphasis; TBD mechanically).
