Description
A deep underground cave complex converted into an operational base over centuries of use. The architecture is functional rather than decorative — carved stone and arcane mechanisms rather than any aesthetic tradition.
The most striking features:
The mechanisms. Elaborate arcane devices fill much of the space — gears, conduits, and magical apparatus designed for interplanar travel and communication. Not steampunk machines; something more purposeful and older. The mechanisms look like they were built by people who understood interplanar physics and had centuries to refine their approach.
The smell. The entire hall smells of pipe smoke, saturated into the stone over what must be several centuries of use. Every blend. Poor ventilation. Griggen has been working down here for a very long time, and the smell has become structural.
The candle room. A dedicated room containing a large supply of Grey Flame Candles, all unlit. This is the storage depot for the clan's reset-mechanism candles.
The dragon armor. Platinum-and-adamantine dragon armor, size 3. Ornate. No one in the current party can wear it.
Access
From the Shadowfell side: via Griggen's temporary portal from the Temple of Nine Feathers in Neftis.
From the Material Plane side: via the Netherese Portal beneath the Toke Inn, then through to Griggen's portal. The clan hall effectively sits between these two access points.
The party has been given access to the hall as of Session 040.
