Tahkisis' Kiss

Aliases: The God-Killer; Takhisis' Kiss (alternate spelling — see naming note below) Type: Artifact dagger Status (latest): Embedded in the heart-tree of the Druid Grove of Lynx; guarded by Old Gnaw-Bone and warded by the Harpers First Reference: Party Roster / Campaign Overview (as a long-range future arc) First On-Screen: Session 018

Description

A wicked-looking dagger embedded in the central tree of the Druid Grove of Lynx — visible to anyone who can reach the island in the grove's lake, but unreachable by most travelers due to the grove's wardings and guardian.

In the histories that KeYs, Falkor, Teppo, and any reasonably-read traveler all know, this is the dagger that played a role in the slaying of dragons of good during the Second War of the Lance — culminating in the slaying of Bahamut and the fall of the great heroes who wielded it.

What the Party Knows

  • Existence: legend; presumed real but presumed lost until session 018.
  • Location: the heart-tree of Druid Grove of Lynx, in the Kryptgarden Forest.
  • Reachability: physically reachable by anyone who can pass the Harpers' anti–Shadar-Kai ward and survive Old Gnaw-Bone; but the grove is in a Feywild bleed-through, and the dagger may not behave like a normal mundane object when removed.
  • The campaign's central removal-arc: Ubys is studying Godsparks (per session 035 plot hooks) toward removing Tahkisis' Kiss as a binding object, not just recovering it. The current open-question form: could AC use his godspark(s) to remove it from the world or from a victim?
