Wraith Battle Continues

Lessie hit the floor.

Then Ubys. The banshees wailed a second time and the cleric and the druid both went down at once. Dhuxtyn and Moist held. KeYs was hurt. AC was lost in his lullaby and not paying attention.

You started losing people fast.

Moist burned the closer banshee with three rays of scorching light, and her shroud cracked, and she shredded apart with a scream — and the singing in AC's ears stopped, and he came back to himself, and he was furious. He marked the second banshee and put the sigil on her and ran her through twice. She tore back at him, blue blood weeping from her shroud, and laid him out flat — "Give us her soul!" — laughing as he hit the ground.

Lessie made her first death save.

Then her second.

Ubys dragged himself up with a Spare the Dying on her and a Healing Word on AC, and the cleric and the fighter both came back. KeYs hammered. Falkor breathed. Dhuxtyn put one last Eldritch Blast through her chest and the singing finally stopped.

The chamber stood quiet.

You were standing in a burial chamber. The coffin at the far end was inscribed with a name that none of you wanted to say out loud.

Asmodeus.

Moist woke Lessie up with a Good Pepper. The room started to grind — the staircase upstairs was sealing itself shut. AC threw the door back open. On the other side stood a Knight of Vindictus you didn't recognize. Concerned. Judgy.

He told you to move along.

He told you to talk to Sgt. Azros later.

He told you, first, to take a Short Rest.

You did not argue.

Next session: business in Leilon — the Knights have a job for you.
