Angus Silvervein

Race: Dwarf Role: Mayor of Leilon; acting head of the Silvervein clan Status (latest): Active — governing Leilon's post-zombie-crisis recovery First Referenced: Session 041 (by name; previously implied in Thaldrin Silvervein's DM notes)

Description

A gray-templed dwarf who married into the Silvervein family — the leading dwarven clan of Leilon — and by virtue of surviving the zombie crisis with most of his civic functions intact, now governs what's left of the town. He is not a warrior or an adventurer; he's an administrator in a situation that called for an administrator when all the warriors were gone or dead underground.

He is grateful to the party, in a tired way that acknowledges they have done things he couldn't have done and created messes he still has to manage.

What the Party Knows

  • Surviving civic authority. When the zombie crisis devastated Leilon, Angus was on the safe side of the collapse and survived. He reorganized the handful of remaining residents and has been managing the cleanup.
  • Raven to Yartar. At the party's request, he sent a raven to Yartar to contact Sir Titus about the Blight, the beetle situation, and the Temple of Orcus. Response expected in 1–2 weeks.
  • The demon problem. He had accepted the continued presence of Mazros the Cursed Baron as "could be worse" — after the party banished Mazros, he was visibly relieved.
  • The wererat situation. He's aware of wererats looting abandoned properties in Leilon. He has not been able to root them out (they're in the tunnels beneath the Toke Inn, which he doesn't control). The party advised a diplomatic approach; he was skeptical but said he'd send them if he saw any.
  • Family context. He is connected to Thaldrin Silvervein, the clan patriarch who led the sacrifice charge during the bug-swarm and is presumed dead. Angus inherited the clan position; the political weight of leading the Silverveins now rests on him.
