Forge of Memories
fi# Forge of Memories
Type: Sacred Mechanic / Location — attached to the Temple of Nine Feathers Operated by: The Nine (the spiritual council of Neftis) First Used: Session 040
Mechanic
The forge accepts three inputs:
- A weapon — the base to be transformed
- A magic item — whose properties are consumed and folded into the weapon
- A significant memory — the price; surrendered permanently and irrecoverably
What emerges is something new. The memory does not return. The person who gave it does not know what they no longer know.
The curse on the output is shaped — in some way not yet fully understood — by the nature of what was sacrificed.
Known Runs — Session 040

⚠ Greg — this run is flagged uncertain. A player noted this as a "maybe" and was not confident it actually occurred. Confirm before treating the merged weapon as canon.
Patterns and Open Questions
- The swim check (Ubys Run 2) is so far the only instance; the original processing log incorrectly attributed it to Crowley's run. Cleared.
- Voidfang's sentient-item intolerance is flagged as "maybe" — if confirmed, it creates an immediate mechanical question: does Voidfang conflict with Whisper (both potentially sentient), or with any other party item? Greg, decide before both weapons are active in the same session.
- Dhuxtyn's curse is arguably the best one at the table. Blind to undead unless playing means he has to play to perceive the most dangerous enemies. And the voice coming through the flute has a clear identity — his Seelie Court love, now haunting the instrument. If the party ever reaches the Feywild, this thread has a reunion waiting.
- The memory cost is permanent and irrecoverable — but the Raven Queen deals in memories and souls. Whether she could restore a forge-consumed memory (at a price) is an open question worth banking.
Theological Note
The forge is operated by the Nine inside the Raven Queen's temple. Its mechanic — endings become something else; the cost is not symbolic — is consistent with her theology. She collects souls; the forge collects memories. Both are thresholds. Both are one-way.
