The Searing Fork of the Cursed Baron
Type: Magic weapon — trident / pitchfork hybrid; +2 Origin: Avernus — Avernus war gear (per AC's memory, transmitted from Mizora) Owner / Wielder: AC (claimed session 026) Original Possessor: Mazros the Cursed Baron First Appearance: Session 026
Stats (Per Player Notes)
- +2 weapon
- 1d10 + 1d6 damage on a regular hit
- 6d8 fire-damage charges held in reserve, deployable in any combination (whatever fraction the wielder chooses to spend per strike)
- Glows red when not in use
Naming Note
The Fork is the trident AC has been wielding throughout the campaign — the same item. "Trident" in earlier and ongoing player-notes shorthand and "Searing Fork of the Cursed Baron" in the post-session-026 vault are one weapon. From session 026 forward, every mention of AC's trident in the player notes is the Fork. (Confirmed by Greg in the λ-032/033 batch wrap-up.)
Description
A large pitchfork-like weapon that glows red at rest. A war-tool of Avernus's legions — the kind of weapon that goes to Barons of the Cursed line. Mazros the Cursed Baron was its associated owner before being summoned to Leilon.
When AC approached the Fork on the tower-stairs in session 026, he was wracked with pain — and memory. The Fork recognized him. (See DM Notes — AC's contract is Avernus-affiliated; the Fork is Avernus war gear; the resonance is not coincidence.)
What the Party Knows
- AC carries it. +2 base with 6d8 fire charges banked; the charges can be split across multiple strikes.
- The Fork recognizes AC on contact — triggers a contract-resonance flashback to the war.
- The Fork's owner is bound at the tower in Leilon under Sir Titus's sword and (presumably) Sir Titus's body as the new binding-anchor.
