Name note: Earlier vault entries used "Silverhelm" — this was a transcription variant. "Silmerhelve" is the canonical family name per the session primer and Olref Silmerhelve's own introduction.
What the Party Knows
- One of Waterdeep's 78 noble houses. Known throughout the city as good people — genuinely so. Not a flashy or political house, but one with a long reputation for honest service.
- Military tradition. The family has a documented history of service in the city guard, the city watch, and the griffin cavalry across multiple generations.
- Draconic rumor. House Silmerhelve has rumored past connections to bronze dragons — specifically that members of the family have had bronze dragon allies or associates. Olref Silmerhelve confirmed this is true for his own generation.
- Origin: Westbridge. The family's roots are in Westbridge, in the Dessarin Valley. Their old estate there — Helvenblade House — sat untended for fifty years after the town's destruction. They have rebuilt their fortunes in Waterdeep since.
- Current head: Olref Silmerhelve — mid-to-late sixties; former military officer.
- Heir: Dala Silmerhelve — his daughter; late twenties to early thirties; unmarried.
- Party relationship: Formal alliance. Olref has granted the party full use of Helvenblade House and its surrounding lands, plus financial backing, for the Westbridge rebuild. A formal letter / seal arrangement is pending.
