What the Party Knows
- A lower house of Waterdeep — not one of the grand noble families, but established enough to have agents, a sigil, and the social access to find the party at a noble funeral.
- Sent a halfling messenger with a scroll in a tarnished silver cord. The message read: "Welcome back from your travels in the realms to other realms. Please come and meet with us now that you're in Waterdeep."
- The phrasing "travels in the realms to other realms" suggests they know the party has been to the Shadowfell, the Abyss, or both — not common knowledge.
- AC rolled History (16): Mathenson House is heavily tied to the Zentarium guild. The Desolate Order (AC's infernal network) is connected to the Zentarium by overlapping convenience — "all sharks are fish, but not all fish are sharks." Adjacent networks; not the same entity.
- The scroll was sealed with the Mathenson House sigil. It was tarnished — the silver cord had aged. This detail may be incidental or may indicate the scroll was prepared some time ago.
