Race: Half-Orc Affiliation: Knights of Vindictus — second chapter (per session 024 colors) Role: Captive of the Mephisto Twins as of session 024 Status (latest): Recovered by the party in session 034 — invisibly bundled into the Mephisto Twins' carriage during the AC-as-Gertz switch. Still under compulsion / charm (charm not yet broken; "giddy-as-a-child" presentation throughout). Travelling with the party post-session-034; queued for delivery back to the Knights of Vindictus (per the λ-034++ council decision — "definitely deliver Ser Gertz over to the Knights of Vindictus"). What the Party Knows
- A battered Half-Orc Knight of Vindictus held by the Mephisto Twins in their coast house basement.
- The second-chapter KoV at the road-stop demanded his return by sunrise in session 024.
- The party saw him at the end of session 024 (the rest of the party went down to see him while Ubys kept the auction invitation upstairs) but did not free him.
- Sunrise has now passed without a transaction.
- Session 034 — finery and charm. Gertz rode in the Twins' carriage with the party — fully turned out in finery, giddy and excited like a child — not piloting Gertz. Ubys read the compulsion / charm immediately. The Twins were taking him to the auction as a lot.
- Session 034 — the lot. Sold to the Heiress of Orcus for >220,000 GP. (The Heiress was the bidder of record; the Shadowvar ran the price up as auction-house mark-up agents.) The Heiress's reason for buying him: the Knights of Vindictus' directions to the Tomb of Orcus, which Gertz carries under compulsion.
- Session 034 — the switch. Before Gertz could be taken into the back of the castle for extraction, AC cast Disguise Self → Sir Gertz and swapped in. Ubys's Sprite-familiar invisibility-by-touch handoff bundled the real Gertz into the carriage, invisible and unconscious. AC, in disguise, walked over to the Heiress and started drawing a fake map. (That fake map triggered the Crowley-reveal cascade — see Session 034 - The Auction and the Name.)
- Session 034 — post-combat. The Twins left with their proceeds; the carriage left with Gertz inside it; the party recovered the carriage in the post-combat sweep. Gertz is with the party.* Charm not yet broken.
