Description
An interplanar clan that has been tracking and fighting the Blight across worlds. Their signature tool is the grey flame — a cold, dim fire that is lethal to the Blight and gives the clan its name. "That is where we get our clan name from," Griggen confirmed in Session 039.
They operate through the Netherese Portal network to reach worlds under Blight infection, arriving ahead of the final destruction sequence to investigate, document, and — where possible — intervene.
They have been doing this for at least twelve worlds. This world is the thirteenth.
What the Party Knows
- Their name is Clan Greyflame — confirmed by Griggen in Session 039
- The grey flame is their namesake and primary tool — anti-Blight; see Grey-Flame Torch and Grey-Flame Candle
- Three members are dead — found by the party beneath the Toke Inn in Session 032. They went through the Netherese Portal to investigate the Blight and were killed by the Rat Queen.
- Griggen is a living elder. He did not know his three scouts were dead until the party told him. He thanked Ubys for the rites.
- They read the Prophecy Scroll — and broke vows to act on it. "We have broken fate. And now we are writing a new future."
- They operate out of Neftis — or at least are hosted there. Griggen has a clan hall in or near Neftis, which he has opened as an invitation to the party.
- Twelve worlds. They have documented twelve worlds destroyed by the same Blight cycle. Souls siphoned to the Evernight laboratory. The current world is thirteen.
