Leigha
Leigha is Crowley's sister. Her name was first spoken aloud in Session 046, in the text of a contract amendment signed by Crowley in the Tomb of Orcus.
Race: Human (presumed — from Bakersfield) Relation: Sister of Crowley Bakerson (AC) Status (latest): Godspark restored — semi-conscious, in transit. Crowley broke the pendant against the chapel altar in Session 053; the godspark descended into her chest and she took her first breath. She is not yet fully conscious — she could not move or speak under her own power at session close. Lessie carried her through the portal into the Shadowfell. The protective bubbles collapsed the moment the godspark returned. (Prior status: in deep sleep on the altar, dormant divinity powering the two protective fields.) Named: Session 046 (contract amendment) First Seen: Session 049
What the Party Knows
- The holy symbol Crowley wears — bone, worn against his skin, a contract that burns him in his sleep — is his sister's soul, or a form of it. This was made visible by The Engineer at the auction (Session 034): "We're missing the godspark of the egg. But we have a godspark — around his neck."
- Her name is Leigha. This was the first time her name appeared — in the text of a contract amendment General Zon presented to Crowley on Level 2 of the Tomb. The amendment states: deliver Ser Vindictus to Zariel's service, and Leigha goes free.
- The original binding that started Crowley's whole contract arc was predicated on this: he would serve hell's interests in exchange for freeing his sister from her captivity.
- She was found in the Brookside pocket plane. (Session 049) Leigha is lying on the altar inside the Brookside Chapel — unconscious, in a deep enchanted sleep. Her dormant divine nature radiates outward as two protective fields that keep the pocket plane's survivors safe from the World Eater and the gnoll army. She has been in this state for (at least) the two years since the World Eater rose.
- Her divinity powers the bubbles. The two protective sanctuaries in the Brookside pocket plane — the chapel bubble and the forest camp bubble — exist because Leigha's dormant divine nature radiates outward. If she wakes, or if her power fails, the bubbles may collapse.
- The godspark question. The godspark around Crowley's neck is some form of her soul or divine essence. Whether returning it to her would wake her — and what that would do to the protective bubbles — is unknown. This is the most urgent unresolved question the party faces before the Bedegar Keep assault.
