Mizora

Type: Devil — affiliate of Zariel Role: AC's contract-holder; also familiar with Ubys from before the campaign Status (latest): Last seen session 007 in Mizora's Cave on the coast road between the Toke Inn and Leilon First Appearance: Session 007

Description

A devilish figure who saunters out of a sea-cave smelling of brimstone. Lounging confidence; uses pet names; knows the people she's talking to.

What the Party Knows

  • Pre-campaign relationship with AC. Her opening line — "Preacher… Preacher… Come here, preacher. It's been a long time…" — and her tender "I told you not to get too close to the water" establish that Ubys and Mizora knew each other before the events of the campaign. The exact nature of that relationship is undisclosed on-screen.
  • Holds AC's contract. She delivers AC's Bone Contract to AC in session 007 — described as for leaving. Whether she's letting him out, marking her side complete, or doing something else is open.
  • Affiliate of Zariel. Per Session Zero lore, the various Cults of Zariel are present along the Sword Coast. Mizora is one of Zariel's better-known operatives in Forgotten Realms canon — Greg may or may not be using the canonical Mizora.
  • Penetration of the Knights of Vindictus confirmed (session 027). Per the KoV journals AC reads on the tower's second floor:
    • Mizora reached the Scribe (Ralph "Scooter") first — he is the first to fall.
    • Capt. Tisdale had a conversation with Mizora (the "demon lady" of the journals) — confronted by Nathaniel and Squire Eltiel over it.
    • Multiple journal-keepers' margins reference her name.
    • The Scribe's session-026 summoning of Mazros the Cursed Baron is downstream of Mizora's reach — though whether she ordered it, encouraged it, or simply provided the manual is unconfirmed.
    • The Leilon chapter's Tomb of Orcus doctrine — that Ser Vindictus is held there — is believed by paladins whose journals Mizora is in. The doctrine itself may be Mizora's seed.
