A Breather at the Toke Inn + Travel to Leilon

The egg-shell pieces went into KeYs' pack and Falkor rode home on her shoulder. He'd grown overnight.

The Toke Inn was loud when you arrived. Hammering, sawing, repairs to the wall the minotaur had taken off. Zombies were doing the lifting. Jorry explained while he set out the last of the stew: representatives of the Steel Beast were lodging here now, and they were lending the labor for free.

Roz was still sick. Dorrin too. Rhovan had run off again.

Ubys went looking for Samrick and didn't come out for the night. He'd lost a man at Lodestone and he was not, currently, talking about it.

AC threw on his cloak, played-acted as Rhovan, and walked out to chat up The Surveyor. The Surveyor was reading a book in Abyssal about the proper raising of the dead. He spoke easily about moon sickness — potency, control, "not evil, despicable creatures." He mentioned someone else with the sickness, killed for information.

The rest of you settled in. KeYs trained Falkor. Lessie challenged her to wrestle, lost two of three. Dhuxtyn gathered materials for a familiar. Moist passed out hot peppers. KeYs trained on into the morning. There was a disturbance she felt but couldn't name. Talon and Rhovan were still gone.

You set out for Leilon along the coast.

Halfway there, a cave by the water. The smell of brimstone. A woman's voice from inside.

"Preacher… Preacher… Come here, preacher. It's been a long time…"

Ubys knew her. Mizora. He'd known her before. He addressed her curtly. She told him, tenderly, "I told you not to get too close to the water." Then she handed AC a bone contract — for leaving — and stepped back into her cave.

You walked on.

Next session: Leilon, and a woman bleeding out on a tavern floor.
