Description
A Firbolg — large and unusual enough that most human social contexts simply have to recategorize. Wears leather wraps and bracers rather than full armor; formerly carried a Staff of Python (the python named Monty — destroyed in Session 065: Umsheryoth bit Monty in half; the staff shattered permanently). Has small antlers (from a Feywander Ranger multiclass) and reportedly smells like coffee. Has long since abandoned any attempt at blending in — "the fucks I have to give are long since past." He leans into being strange. It works.
What the Party Knows
Session 049:
- Part of Crowley's original Brookside group. One of four survivors who stayed in the pocket plane after the World Eater rose.
- Is druidic — Lessie sensed it; he recognized something druidic in her in turn.
- Greeted Crowley with measured restraint: "You finally came back, huh?" Not warm, not hostile. He has made his peace.
Session 057 (substitute PC — Massey):
- Traveled with the party to Waterdeep in place of Ubys, who remained at Feathergale Spire processing Orin's death.
- Rode Sigrin (his hippogriff from Brookside) to the Long High Road Inn outside Waterdeep.
- Worked the Midday Social at the noble funeral; Persuasion 22; learned about Timothy's and Garrett's families; gently called out Garrett's family's condescension toward the vulture-rider tradition.
- Assigned Waterdeep task: Research the Silverhelm Estate via the genealogical library — determine whether the estate still exists and could house the 77 refugees.
- Has five gold on him. Two years in the Abyss left his finances depleted.
Sessions 064–065 (substitute PC — Massey, continuing):
- Continued as active substitute PC through the Yartar/Westbridge arc. Massey elected to stay as Emmith through at least the Helvenblade House arc rather than switch back to Ubys.
- Session 064: applied the gray flame torch to Aurelion the Dawn Sovereign (Medicine 27, DC 20); concealed Jaster Rell's role from Bellebranta (Deception 11 — failed); helped deliver Aurelion to the Hall of Wings.
- Session 065: climbed onto Umsheryoth's back during combat while invisible (Hidden Step racial ability). Applied the gray flame torch as a weapon and treatment throughout the fight. Monty (the Staff of Python constrictor snake) was deployed to grapple the dragon — Umsheryoth bit Monty in half; the staff shattered. Item permanently lost.
