Knights of Vindictus HQ (Leilon Tower)

Description
The central tower of Leilon — once a structural symbol of the town's old governance — has been repurposed by the Knights of Vindictus as their regional residence and judicial seat. A large wooden beam, once a structural support, now spans the open frame; several nooses hang from it for swift execution.
The order operates from here under Sgt. Azros. The Knights of Vindictus use the tower for:
- Holding cells (top floor — where Runs with Bitches was held in session 008)
- Executions (the gallows-beam — used for Runs with Bitches in session 009)
- Briefings to outside contractors (e.g., the Nathaniel bounty in session 011)
Session 023 — The Scribe
The party visited the tower to claim the 1,000 GP Nathaniel rescue reward from Ralph "Scooter" (the KoV scribe). Scooter paid out from a locked strongbox; his manner was recorded as nervous.
Session 026 — The Scribe's Fate
Ralph "Scooter" was found dead — eviscerated, hung from a timber outside the tower (a display reminiscent of Runs with Bitches). This was the first sign that the Leilon chapter was being targeted from within. AC concluded during the session 027 debrief that Mizora reached the Scribe first and the Scribe then polluted the order.
Session 027 — The Debrief
AC received a full intelligence download on the order's internal state:
- Nathaniel was Yartar-chapter intelligence; he confirmed Leilon was hunting the Tomb of Orcus; he was discovered and fled; the party's bounty was a cleanup.
- The tower has a dark conduit running through it — confirmed as a Blight-anchor (see Session 029 below).
- The Leilon chapter's mission (as stated) was to find and free Ser Vindictus, held in the Tomb of Orcus.
- Thirteen corrupted KoV knights were still active — later confirmed to be riding Vrocks at the Prison of Ser Vindictus in the 273rd layer of the Abyss.
Session 029 — Blight Anchor Confirmed
Combined with the Black Spire Chamber in the Mere of Deadmen, the tower's dark conduit is confirmed as part of a Blight-anchor grid — multiple anchor points, possibly Sword Coast-wide. The tower itself is one node in this network.
Session ~034–040 — Sir Titus Era
After the Leilon chapter's corruption became clear, Sir Titus emerged as the functional authority at the tower — a higher-ranking (and uncorrupted) knight from a different chapter. During the sessions ~034–040 range:
- A beam of light was seen shooting into the sky from the tower by the party approaching from miles out. KeYs recognized its shape as similar to her pre-campaign vision that led her to Falkor's egg.
- Mazros the Cursed Baron (the Searing Fork's owner) was pinned to the tower stone.
- Sir Titus was found on-station, mobile and recovering: helm polished to mirror-quality; a working altar of rune-stones to Tyr at his feet. He gave the party Lathander's blessing and received the news that Ser Gertz was safe.
